Gia Yarn (she/her) was born and (mostly) raised in Rhode Island and has been making theatre since kindergarten. Gia is play director based in Providence, RI where she examines the beauties and complexities of American life through comedy.

Gia graduated from Dean College in Franklin, MA with a BA in Art and Entertainment Management with a concentration in theater.

At Trinity Repertory Company, Gia is the Casting Director & Artistic Producer where she coordinates casting, produces workshops, assists in season planning and so much more!

Gia is currently directing THE HEIDI CHRONICLES by Wendy Wasserstein with the Reverie Theatre Group. Most recently directed MARIAN, OR THE TRUE TALE OF ROBIN HOOD by Adam Szymkowicz at Rhode Island College

This past summer Gia assisted Armando Rivera for Rhode Island Latino Arts/Trinity Rep’s Teatro en el Verano production of ¡QUE DIABLOS , FAUSTO!? adapted by Jesús Valles.

This past winter and spring, Gia directed THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE by Matthew López at Burbage Theatre Company, assistant directed Don Mays on FAT HAM by James Ijames at the Wilbury Theatre Group and directed I HATE HAMLET by Paul Rudnick at Barker Playhouse.

Last fall, Gia was the Associate Director of Trinity Rep’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL, directed and adapted by Tatyana-Marie Carlo with performances at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC). The previous summer, Gia collaborated with local theatre artists and made her directorial debut with THE TWO-CHARACTER PLAY by Tennessee Williams.
